Check out Meth smashing it on his first verse - then U-God comes good with a bit of comedy (and a lot of flappy hand gestures), Masta Killa goes off the dome and a surprise beat sets up the grand finale.

8-Bit Hitchcock by Joe Spiotto - for Gallery 1988's upcoming show

Joe Spiotto (Joebot) writes:

Gallery 1988 is THE place in Los Angeles for Pop-Culture art shows. I have been fortunate enough to have been involved in quite a few shows with them over the past few years. This year marks a record for me with 10 shows at Gallery 1988 in 2012!!!

Earlier this year I was in the "Adult Swim" show and last month "Is This Thing On? 2". The next show i'm so proud to be a part of is "Suspense & Gallows Humor: A Tribute to the All-Time Greatest" at Gallery 1988 in Venice, CA.

Alfred Hitchcock was a true master. His work was so chilling and visually captivating, there are many options for an artist to interpret his work, which is why i'm so excited for this show! Below is my contribution.

In the 80's Nintendo was a dominant force to be reckoned with. Had Hitchcock been just a few years behind I'm almost certain that Nintendo would have jumped on the chance to make video-game adaptations of some of his most iconic films. I'm almost certain that their game boxes would have looked a little something like this.

'Hong Kong in the Rain' - Photography by Christophe Jacket

I've been meaning to blog this photography series for a while now since I spotted it on Toybot Studios. As stated there, how much do some of these shots remind you of Blade Runner?

'Francis' Plush by Scott Tolleson x Screaming Sky Gallery

As plushies go - this to me is one of the best I have ever seen! He's called 'francis' and is available now for the affordable price of $25 (£16). He stands 8.5" tall and is designed by Scott Tolleson. I want one, but have 0 funds...nevermind eh? Here's the product blurb:

'Meet Francis. Francis is one of the smallest known Nosellots. He works as a Microbiologist. He is constantly forgetting his last name, even though it is printed on his lab coat. A Nosellot anomaly, Francis used to be able to fly until his horns grew too heavy. Now, when he is very excited, he can flutter high enough to reach the top shelf. This makes him very happy.

"This creature is quality produced with heavy fleece materials, detailed stitching, and vibrant colors...all things that the collector and casual customer will appreciate."

Mondo's first book - released tomorrow!

This is exciting stuff indeed! Here we have a precious and rare item that any Mondo collector will long to have in their collection. At only 105 copies, you will need a fast finger to snag one - best of luck!

Mondo writes:

'If you attended the gallery show a few weeks ago, you might’ve seen or even bought our new book. We are all very excited with how they came out. I briefly talk about this in the intro of the book, but I was at a friend’s house earlier this year and noticed a book he had by Jay Ryan. It was full of posters…. actual pieces of the screenprinted posters. I thought about the giant stack of returned posters we’ve gotten over the years and figured this would be a great way to get those out as we were moving to the new space and didn’t want to transport them.

So, we began to go through the giant stack and pick out which ones we wanted in and in what order they should go. We found a local binder and had him cut them down to size and over several weeks we hand put these books together. It was an intricate process and below you can see some of the pics of the book getting put together. (check those pics HERE)

I went to WonderCon in Anaheim, CA a few weeks ago and got some sketches done in the book and felt like sharing them. Lots of folks that got these at the gallery show got the artists in attendance to draw in theirs as well, so this works as a great sketchbook!

These books are limited to just 105 copies made TOTAL and are bound in 100% leather. They will be put up for sale on the site tomorrow and will cost $200. Follow us on Twitter for the on sale announcement.'
